Privacy policy.
Last updated 11 August 2026
Miami Ocean Yacht Rentals LLC operates this website and the charters booked through it. This page explains what personal information we collect — which, until you write to us, is nothing at all — and what happens to it when you get in touch.
The short version
- This website has no account, no newsletter and no shopping cart. The one way to write to us from the page itself is the concierge chat on the home page — and it collects nothing until you type into it.
- It sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no embedded social widget. Nothing you read here is reported to anyone.
- The fonts and photographs are served from our own host. One exception: the concierge chat is loaded from Quehay, the service that runs it. No other request on this site goes to another company.
- We collect personal information only when you contact us about a charter, and only what we need to answer you and run the trip safely.
- We have never sold personal information, and we do not intend to.
Who is responsible
Miami Ocean Yacht Rentals LLC, 401 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132. You can reach us at hola@miamioceanyachts.com or (305) 555-0199 with any question about this policy, or to ask what we hold about you.
What the website collects
Nothing that identifies you, unless you use the concierge chat — that has its own section below. There is no other form to fill in, and no cookie is set by us.
Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs so the site can be served and protected from abuse: the requesting IP address, the time, the page requested and the browser user-agent string. We do not use those logs to build a profile of anyone, and we do not combine them with anything else. They are held by the host under its own privacy policy.
The concierge chat
The chat on the home page is run for us by Quehay (quehay.us) and loads inside its own frame, from Quehay’s servers, once you scroll near it. Until then, nothing is requested from Quehay; from then on, Quehay’s servers see the same ordinary request data our own host sees, and the frame may use cookies or similar storage of its own in order to work.
Whatever you type there — and any name or contact detail you choose to give it — is stored on Quehay’s systems on our behalf, answered first by an AI assistant, and read by us to follow up. Treat it exactly like a message to us: everything in the next section applies to it.
The chat can also take a voice call. That happens only if you start one and allow the microphone when your browser asks; your speech is transcribed and then handled like a typed message. Decline the microphone and the text chat works all the same.
What we collect when you contact us
Charters are arranged by conversation — WhatsApp, Instagram, phone or email — so what we hold is whatever that conversation contains. Typically:
- Your name, and the phone number, email address or social handle you wrote from.
- The date, the hours and the yacht you are asking about, and how many people are coming.
- Anything you choose to tell us in order to make the day work — an occasion, dietary notes, whether children are aboard, accessibility or mobility needs, whether anyone is a non-swimmer.
- A record that the deposit and balance were paid, and when.
Payments
We do not see or store full card numbers. Payments are handled by the payment provider named in your booking confirmation, and the card details go to them, not to us. What we keep is the fact of the payment: amount, date and reference.
Why we use it
To quote you a price, to confirm and hold your date, to give the captain the passenger count and any safety-relevant note before departure, to reach you if the weather forces a change, and to keep the booking and payment records the law requires us to keep.
That is the whole list. We do not use it for advertising, we do not profile you, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Messaging apps belong to someone else
If you write to us on WhatsApp or Instagram, that conversation exists on Meta’s systems as well as on our phone, and Meta’s own terms and privacy policy govern it — we cannot change that. An ordinary text message passes through your mobile carrier in the same way.
If you would rather not use those services, email or call us instead and the conversation stays between us and our email provider.
Who else sees it
- Quehay, the service that runs the concierge chat — conversations you have there sit on its systems on our behalf.
- The captain and crew running your charter — the passenger count, the names aboard, and any safety-relevant note you have given us.
- The marina, where dock access or a slip assignment requires it.
- Our payment provider, for the deposit and balance.
- Anyone we are legally obliged to tell — the U.S. Coast Guard or a law-enforcement or tax authority acting within its powers.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that never became a booking are deleted once the conversation is plainly over. Booking and payment records are kept for as long as Florida and federal tax and liability rules require, and then deleted. INVENTED: confirm the exact retention period with your accountant and insurer before relying on this paragraph.
Your choices
Write to hola@miamioceanyachts.com and you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will do it free of charge and come back to you within 30 days. The only thing we will decline to delete is a record we are legally required to keep, and we will tell you if that applies.
Depending on where you live, your state may give you additional rights over your personal information. We apply the above to everyone who asks, wherever they live, rather than asking you to prove your address first.
Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Children are very welcome on board with a parent or guardian; anything we are told about a child — an age, a life-jacket size — is given to us by that adult and used only to run the charter safely.
Security
We take reasonable care of what you send us, but no message crossing the internet is perfectly private. Please do not send identity documents or card numbers over WhatsApp, Instagram or email. Nobody at this business will ever ask you to.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. If a change materially affects people who have already booked with us, we will say so in the confirmation thread rather than expecting anyone to re-read the page.
This page is published in English and Spanish. Where the two differ, the English version governs.
